Bought this after hearing Carrie Underwoods rendetion of the title song on. All the songs are great. I especially liked the performances by Trace, Derks, Sara and of course Carrie. This album is a must have for anyone who loves the old gospel favorites.
The Carrie Underwood rendition of "How Great Thou Art" alone is worth the price. She sings it like a prayer, which I believe the song is.
This album doesn't quite capture the intensity and coziness of the original television production (how could it)., but, it's a great compilation of wonderful standards, including a few matches that you might not have thought of.There were a few tunes from the T.V. special that I wish had been included, but overall, it's a great album, one that will satisfy and comfort for a long time to come.
The songs are old favorites, but the Opry stars' vocals are true and moving. We will listen over and over again.
Very surprised this wasn't cleaned up in post production. Disappointed with the audio reproduction of this album. Lot of distorted portions of songs when listening and is very noticeable when listening by headphones. Enjoy the selections and the artists, but the production is very poor compared to the quality of the performers. Disappointed, especially for the $9.99 price of the album.
